No one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it. St John Ambulance teaches people first aid so they can be the difference between life and death, and you can help us do this.
We are seeking volunteer Nurses to lead outreach shifts providing specialist, clinical, social and holistic care to our homeless clients.
Homeless Service Nurses shall provide specialist, clinical, social and holistic care and undertake clinical assessment and interventions in the pre-hospital environment. Ideally, we like nurses to volunteer at a minimum of 2 clinics / month (approx. 3 hours each), and attend a team meeting on the first Tuesday evening of each month, but hours are negotiable. Induction programme includes 3 essential full training days (dates TBC), which all volunteers must be available for. During the induction period, volunteer nurses are given the opportunity to 'shadow' another nurse at two or three clinics.
Prospective volunteer nurses are offered an informal interview, followed by an induction training programme, which includes 3 full days (further details available on request). During the induction period, volunteer nurses are given the opportunity to 'shadow' another volunteer at two or three clinics.
Successful candidates will be registered nurses with the NMC.
